John has worked in the practice as a vet for 8 years and has been the owner since 2002. As well as clinical work, he is also involved in all the management of the practice.
John has a labrador called Dimbleby and a cat named Cassie. There has recently been a new addition to the Hutchinson household; she is called Willow and has long legs and glossy black fur. Dimbles is not sure about no longer being the only canine resident of the house, but is starting to teach her the basics of being a good vets dog! Outside of work John enjoys skiing, walking, cycling and spending time with his daughters, Emma and Sophie.
Hannah rejoined the practice in July 2007 after a short spell off trying something a little different. She has a particular interest in ophthalmology (the study of eyes). At home Hannah has two mischievious cats named Dizzy and Carbonel who provide her with plenty of work and entertainment in equal measure! In her time off Hannah enjoys skiing (a pastime she tries to make time for at least once every year if possible), reading and walking in the country with friends (both human and canine).
Mary joined the practice in 2004 as our part time vet, working on Tuesdays and Fridays. Mary has a keen interest in Internal Medicine. At home Mary lives with her husband Mike, their three boys, a budgie named Mischief and some female company in the shape of collie cross Jess and labrador Jazmine. When she has time to relax, Mary enjoys walking, gardening, watching Ireland play in the rugby and playing golf.
Emily joined us in November 2006. Having previously worked in Bridlington, home of beautiful beaches, she occasionally misses the sea. However, she has settled in extremely well here and we are very glad to have her with us. At work, Emily has a keen interest in homeopathy and complimentary medicine and also in exotic creatures, the more unusual the better! At home she has a lurcher called Fly and two cats Meggie and Quin. Emily's hobbies include caring for and showing her pigeons and her various chickens which are all shapes and sizes. She also enjoys going for walks with Fly and playing the piano.
Amanda has been with the practice since before John took over in 2002! She has therefore seen many changes in her time, the most recent being the extensive expansion and refurbishment that took place in 2007. As well as her head nurse responsibilities and her regular nursing duties, which include being involved in nurse clinics, Amanda is also the practice Nurse Training Assessor. Amanda is particularly interested in cat and Dog behaviour. At home she enjoys spending time with her 4 cats - Bruiser, Biscuit, Bonnie and Bella, socialising, sewing and studying to further her skills and knowledge. How she finds time for it all we do not know!
Karoline is currently on maternity leave, after giving birth to baby Shaun in August. We wish her all the best and look forward to her return.
Karoline rejoined us in April 2007. She enjoys consulting as part of the nurse clinics and has been instrumental in setting up the nurses bunny clinics as she is a big fan of rabbits, owning two herself! Karoline is also a Nurse Training Assessor and helps Amanda with some of the student nurse training. At home Karoline also has a pet cockatiel named Billy, a cat named Hermione and a dog named Ebony. She enjoys sewing and watching films.
Sarah has been with the practice since 2005 when she joined us on placement from college and soon after was employed every Saturday. She has now joined the nursing team full time and has qualified as a VN, receiving confirmation that she had passed her exams on the 1st of May! We are all very pleased and proud of her. At home Sarah lives with her family and 14 cats! She enjoys going to the cinema, socialising with friends and pop concerts (especially if Scouting for Girls are playing).
Kim joined us in September 2007 as a full time student vet nurse. She attends college for theoretical training every Monday and her practical training is conduct at the practice. Kim studies hard at home, assisted by her 3 cats including the mischievious Smartie. To relax Kim enjoys socialising with friends.
Corin joined the practice in September 2006. She previously worked nights for the PDSA in their emergency only clinic. Corin achieved her ANA qualification in October 2008. She has a special interest in birds of prey, and has 2 among her numerous pet collection which also includes a rat, a crow, fish, various dogs and small furry creatures of varying descriptions.
Fay joined us in January 2008 on placement from college during the week. She is now a full time member of the nursing team and studying hard towards her nursing qualifications. Fay is a great addition to the team and is settling in well.
Ann has been with us since April 2006 and works with us every weekday morning on reception and also in the office. She recently returned to work after the birth of baby Tegan Zara in February 2008. We are all very glad to have her back.
Ann has a bunny named Sooty and enjoys swimming, canoeing and looking after Tegan and her elder son Ethan.
Dee joined us as our Saturday receptionist in October 2008. She is settling in well and is a great addition to our team. At home Dee has two cheeky little cairn terriers who keep her very busy!
Sally assists in the smooth running of the practice and helps John with much of the office work in the practice. Sally is married to John and shares a dog, a cat and two children with him. Outside of work Sally enjoys running, going to the gymn and skiing.
